On November 26, Xiangyang Zhou, Director of Hubei Provincial Archives, Deputy Director Xiaochun Liu and their delegation visited the Wuhan University School of Information Management and the Key Laboratory of Intelligent Development and Service of Archives for an inspection and research visit. Wei Lu, Member of the Standing Committee of the Wuhan University Party Committee, Vice President of Wuhan University and Director of the Laboratory, Xiaoguang Wang, Dean of the Wuhan University School of Information Management, and faculty representatives from the Department of Archives and Government Information Studies attended the symposium. Ping Wang, Deputy Director of the Laboratory, chaired the meeting.

Wei Lu warmly welcomed Xiangyang Zhou and the delegation and expressed sincere gratitude to Hubei Provincial Archives for its support of the Laboratory's construction and development. He summarized and introduced the progress and achievements of recent years at three levels: the university, the school and the discipline, and expressed the hope for long-term cooperation and joint development with Hubei Provincial Archives. Xiaoguang Wang introduced the background of the development of the School and the Laboratory and analyzed the Laboratory's current needs and difficulties. Ping Wang reported on the Laboratory's joint development mechanism, research directions, transfer of research results and external exchanges, and gave a detailed account of the challenges the Laboratory currently faces in its development.

Xiangyang Zhou affirmed the Laboratory's achievements and pointed out that it is necessary to recognize the value of joint development, clarify the means of advancing it, seek policy support and establish a regular mechanism, so as to promote the coordinated development of the Laboratory and the Archives. Xiaochun Liu suggested promoting the Laboratory's achievements and experience through cooperation models, and set out the priorities and direction of the Laboratory's future work.
