Recently, Professor Ping Wang's team at the Key Laboratory of Intelligent Development and Service of Archives published the research paper "Semantic Representation of Red Archives Based on Form-Content Interaction" in "Archives Science Bulletin," a leading journal in archival science and a CSSCI source journal. Professor Ping Wang is the first author, and the paper was completed jointly with the laboratory's doctoral student Siyuan Peng and researchers Muyan Li and Jingrui Hou.

Red archives are an important resource for passing on the revolutionary heritage and telling the stories of the revolution well. Addressing the multimodal and thematic characteristics of red archives, this study first proposes an analytical framework for the semantic representation of red archives from the perspective of form-content interaction. Then, through formal semantic analysis and content semantic analysis, it builds a semantic representation model of red archives covering four layers: the form layer, the object layer, the description layer and the association layer, achieving fine-grained semantic disclosure that progresses layer by layer from low-level to high-level semantics. Finally, using the image archives of the Founding Ceremony of the People's Republic of China as a case study, it verifies that the proposed model has the advantages of focusing on domain features, revealing multi-granularity semantics and discovering multidimensional semantic associations, offering important reference value for the semantic mining and organization of red archives in practice.
